EU sanctions targeting Russian citizens.
In the context of sanctions against Russia, the EU has decided to impose significant restrictions on the banking sector concerning Russian citizens.
The acceptance of deposits from Russian citizens or from natural or legal persons, entities or bodies resident or established in Russia is prohibited - with certain exceptions - if the total value of the customer's deposits per credit institution exceeds the amount of EUR 100,000.
In addition, it is prohibited to provide services in connection with crypto wallets, crypto accounts or crypto custody to this group of persons if the total value of the crypto assets per wallet, account or custodian exceeds EUR 10,000.
You can find out what happens to the existing account balances and how the bank accounts get their money in a personal consultation.
